Appearance

 

Sea Slater
  • Adult – 3cm. It is grey to olive in colour and has a flattened, oval–shaped body. Its black eyes are very large and obvious.

Lifecycle

  • Breeding takes place in spring and summer and most only breed once.
  • The female carries eggs in brood pouch until they hatch as nymphs.
  • They have a life span of 2 ½ – 3 years.

Habits

  • It is found by the coast, beneath stones and in crevices just above the tide line.
  • It is omnivorous and nocturnal.
